Join Durham Regional Police Service as a Helicopter Pilot, ensuring safe and compliant flight operations in support of police missions. This full-time role involves advanced flying skills and effective crew coordination.<br/><br/>As part of the Operational Support team, you will operate rotary-wing aircraft under high-pressure conditions. With responsibilities as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command, you will execute critical missions following strict aviation regulations. The position demands strong judgment, communication, and commitment to safety during both routine and emergency flights.<br/><br/>Key Responsibilities:
• Operate helicopters following aviation regulations and DRPS policies
• Complete pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight duties
• File flight plans and secure necessary clearances
• Monitor weather and urban airspace for safe operations
• Cooperate with Tactical Flight Officers and Air Traffic Control<br/><br/>Requirements:
• University degree plus aviation experience
• Valid Commercial Pilot Licence – Helicopter
• Minimum 1,000 rotary-wing flight hours
• Night flying experience with at least 50 hours
