Overview
Store Manager – Peoples Jewellers (Signet Jewelers). The Store Manager leads the day-to-day operations of a single store to achieve sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team development. The role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and delivering a best-in-class customer experience while promoting a People First store environment that supports diversity and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Lead store operations to achieve sales targets, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, and brand representation.
- Provide personal selling, coaching, and development to team members to maximize results and deliver a high-quality customer experience.
- Communicate performance expectations and ensure staff understands how goals contribute to company success.
- Coach staff to reflect the brand image in customer interactions and ensure consistent store visuals and marketing execution.
- Support corporate initiatives and plans; translate strategy into actionable team goals.
- Identify opportunities for improvement from sales data and operations reports; develop plans to address issues.
- Monitor market trends, competitive programs, and merchandising, and communicate needs to management.
- Collaborate with nearby Signet Store Managers to foster open communication, resource sharing, and shared objectives.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a positive, motivating leadership style to inspire the team.
- Maintain a positive work environment that values diversity and inclusion.
- Ensure accurate team data in systems and manage scheduling to meet business needs.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of 2 years of college preferred.
- Experience: At least 3 years of retail sales experience, or 2 years of retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1 year of retail management experience. Preference for specialty retail or jewelry experience; Diamond Council of America (DCA) certification is a plus.
- Technical/Other Skills: Advanced written and verbal communication; proficient with computers and MS Office; strong interpersonal and presentation skills; problem solving and conflict management; ability to work independently and manage priorities; professional email, social media, video, and text communication; ability to clearly explain detailed information.
- Additional Language: Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Physical Demands: Able to stand and move between displays; lift up to 10 pounds; able to perform visual tasks related to gemstone quality; willingness to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours; travel may be required for training and meetings.
- Schedule: Five-day, 40-hour work week during non-peak periods with shifts that may include openings and closings; hours may increase during peak periods.
Compensation and Schedule
Base pay range: $58,240 – $72,800 plus commission on sales. Final pay determined by experience and qualifications. A standard workweek includes weekends and evenings with peak period adjustments as needed.
