Senior Backend Developer
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our team in Vancouver, Canada. This role is pivotal to supporting and enhancing the CATI platform while addressing client-driven change requests and improving system architecture. The successful candidate will collaborate with global teams and act as a key contributor to strategic development projects and operational improvements.<br/><br/>Key Responsibilities<br/><br/>Development Projects:<br/><br/>Take ownership of backend development efforts to enhance and maintain the CATI platform, ensuring alignment with evolving product goals and client requirements.<br/><br/>Lead initiatives to modernize system architecture and improve operational efficiency, such as redesigning legacy dialer integration or optimizing scheduling engine.<br/><br/>Contribute to product-focused solutions by addressing client change requests and developing new functionalities for the CATI platform.<br/><br/>System Operations and Collaboration:<br/><br/>Collaborate with Cloud Ops and other teams to ensure smooth operation and competence-building in CATI architecture.<br/><br/>Actively contribute to system operations and improvements, including troubleshooting when necessary, collaborating with teams, and sharing knowledge to build collective expertise.<br/><br/>Global Coordination and Communication:<br/><br/>Work independently while maintaining effective communication with international teams in varying time zones.<br/><br/>Travel as needed to build closer collaboration with teams in Norway, Germany, Georgia, or other relevant locations.<br/><br/>Qualifications and Experience<br/><br/>Technical Expertise:<br/><br/>Extensive experience in backend development, with a strong emphasis on SQL and modern .NET.<br/><br/>Experience with cloud architectures, microservices, their typical problems and solutions.<br/><br/>Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for deployment, monitoring, and alerting is a plus, including experience with tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Prometheus and Grafana.<br/><br/>Ability to dive deep into system architecture for effective enhancement and troubleshooting.<br/><br/>Work Style:<br/><br/>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.<br/><br/>Comfortable collaborating with teams in different time zones, including early or late hours as required.<br/><br/>Communication and Mentorship:<br/><br/>Ability to analyze and explain complex technical issues clearly.<br/><br/>Experience mentoring and training less experienced team members is a plus.<br/><br/>Preferred Qualifications<br/><br/>Strong SQL skills – query optimization, reading execution plans, eliminating locks, efficient use of tools.<br/><br/>Strong engineering skills – system design, writing clean and efficient code, responsible refactoring.<br/><br/>Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS and related technologies is a plus.<br/><br/>Prior experience working in distributed teams.<br/><br/>Location and Travel<br/><br/>Based in Vancouver, Canada, within an existing Forsta engineering environment.<br/><br/>Ability and willingness to travel internationally as needed for team collaboration and training.<br/><br/>Pay Transparency
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.<br/><br/>EEO Statement
