Director, SHN Finance
Reports to the Senior Director, Finance, SDM Central FP&A & Healthcare Businesses and plays a critical leadership role in providing strategic financial support to Specialty Health Network (SHN) within Shoppers Drug Mart. This position serves as a trusted business partner to the SHN Leadership Team, leading financial planning, reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and business analysis while overseeing the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Vice President & General Manager, Senior Directors, and operational leaders to provide financial insights that support business performance, drive decision‑making, and enable sustainable growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the month‑end close process, conduct detailed profit and loss (P&L) reviews, analyze financial performance, and present results and insights to senior leadership at SHN and Shoppers Drug Mart.
- Lead the periodic forecasting process and annual budgeting cycle for SHN and Enterprise Specialty.
- Partner with Human Resources to develop headcount and payroll plans and forecasts.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Planning and Pharmacy Finance teams to consolidate Enterprise Specialty financial results, forecasts, and budgets.
- Provide regular financial reporting, performance analysis, and ad‑hoc business insights to support decision‑making.
- Support business growth, cost optimization, and strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis and recommendations.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 14 finance professionals across Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable. Coach, mentor, and support employee development through ongoing feedback and performance management.
- Serve as the primary Finance business partner to the SHN Senior Leadership Team (SLT), building strong relationships, presenting financial results, and identifying business changes that may impact future performance.
- Partner with the Vice President & General Manager to prepare and deliver regular business updates to SHN colleagues.
What You’ll Bring
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in finance, including business or financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- 4–5 years of people leadership or management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to deliver results on time and within budget.
- Strong business acumen and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience communicating financial results to senior leadership.
- Experience partnering with business leaders to support operational and strategic decision‑making is considered an asset.
- Experience in the pharmacy or healthcare industry is considered an asset.
Compensation
Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :$128,000.00 – $176,000.00 / 128.000,00$ – 176.000,00$ (per year / par an). A candidate’s experience and knowledge as well as the geographical region in which the position is located may be factored into the pay a candidate receives for this position.
