As a Tax Manager in our Domestic Tax team, you’ll work with a wide variety of clients and build your experience in new industries. Working with some of Canada’s top gurus in Tax, a career in tax at Doane Grant Thornton is an opportunity to create your unique career journey.
Joining our robust team of over 400 tax professionals means you’ll collaborate with colleagues across service lines such as Advisory and Specialty Tax, which will broaden your perspective and help you solve client problems, delivering personalized solutions.
Responsibilities
- Coaching and mentoring a team of tax colleagues on compliance, helping them walk in clients’ shoes by discussing tax planning options
- Establish deep trusting relationships with clients as you advise them on complex tax matters
- Review corporate tax provisions and compliance engagements, and analyze, review and complete corporate and personal income tax returns
- Proactively resolve tax related issues with clients and other team members
- Act as a leader in the management of our growing tax practice, identifying and developing new opportunities for additional tax services
Qualifications
- You’re enrolled in or have completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program, or have a Masters of Taxation degree
- You’ve developed and presented new ideas and conceptualized new approaches and tax solutions for clients as part of your commitment to providing exceptional client service
- You have solid experience in corporate and personal Canadian tax compliance
- You’ve helped mentor and develop others

Compensation
At Doane Grant Thornton, we believe compensation should reflect more than just market data—it should reflect you. Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. The current salary range for this role is $96,800–$133,100 in Markham, ON. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
