Training Lead

6 Month Contract + Possible Extensions

Hybrid – Calgary

45-51/hr

We are seeking an experienced Training Lead to design, deliver, and scale the training program for the Digital Supply Chain (DSC) Program. This role is critical to ensuring successful user knowledge, ability, and adoption across multiple Canadian and US regions.

The Training Lead will work in close partnership with our Functional Leads and OCM Lead to translate program strategy and deliverables into practical, engaging, and field-ready learning experiences, ensuring consistency, clarity, support, and measurable adoption outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Training Strategy & Execution

  • Design a standardized DSC training operating model (hands-on, tool-first approach) that aligns with OCM and program strategies.
  • Lead, as primary with secondary support, end-to-end training delivery across regions, divisions, and branches.
  • Ensure training is:
  • Tailored to the stakeholders and DSC tool
  • Interactive and scenario-based
  • Focuses on real processes, workflows and decision-making
  • Consistent but adaptable to regional, divisional, and branch considerations/nuances
  • Aligns with OCM ADKAR methodology (Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement)

2. Training Delivery Excellence

  • Develop, deliver, and lead all training sessions
  • Establish best practices for:
  • Recordings and demonstration collaborations
  • Presentation clarity, flow, and understanding
  • Walk-around, interactive facilitation
  • Breakout sessions and competency level learning
  • Integrated Q&A throughout sessions and collecting and helping the program address FAQs
  • Ensure sessions are optimized for engagement (≤3 hours, structured flow, various learner styles)

3. Content Governance & Control

  • Own the single source of truth for all training materials
  • Establish:
  • Version control and governance practices
  • Standardized Train-the-Trainer (TTT) materials
  • Maintain a centralized FAQ and knowledge repository (SharePoint)

4. UAT & Release Alignment

  • Partner with Functional, Product, BA, and QA teams to ensure:
  • Training reflects finalized functionality
  • Effective UAT participation and readiness
  • Ensure stakeholders involved to test the system
  • Support implementation of:
  • Structured dry runs and validation processes
  • Training-aligned release planning

5. Training Logistics & Scalability

  • Develop and manage scalable training rollout plans concurrently
  • Coordinate:
  • Centralized but varying scheduling
  • Trainer readiness, onboarding, and up-skilling
  • Implement training readiness checklists (technology, facilities, stakeholders)
  • Track and report on training prep, facilitation, and outcomes

6. Continuous Improvement & Feedback Integration

  • Establish structured feedback loops
  • Analyze feedback and continuously improve:
  • Content
  • Delivery approach
  • Training timing and structure
  • Knowledge requirements

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with:
  • Program Ownership & Management
  • Program Change Management (OCM) Lead
  • Program Functional Leads & Analysts
  • Division Managers, Branch Managers, etc. (field)
  • Ensure training aligns with strategy, field considerations, needs, and operational realities

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years in Training, Learning & Development, or Enablement leadership roles
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale system or transformation programs
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Expertise in UAT processes and release coordination
  • Experience building scalable training frameworks, templates, and programs
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption (not “training delivered”, without “adoption achieved” mentality)
  • Experience using video / recording platforms (MS Clipchamp, MS Stream, MS Teams, Zoom, Adobe Pro, Loom, Vimeo, YouTube)
  • Able to travel to deliver in-person training in Canada and United States of America

Preferred

  • Experience in supply chain, agriculture, or operational environments
  • Familiarity with various learning styles, accessibility, and needs
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with OCM frameworks

  • Strong and positive field feedback on training relevance and clarity
  • Reduced concerns, frustrations, and variability in training delivery and effectiveness
  • Increase in system adoption post-training
  • Effective structuring and governance of training materials (i.e saving, sharing, no duplicate or outdated materials in circulation)
