BCIT’s School of Construction and the Environment is seeking a regular, full‑time (1.0 FTE) Faculty for the Architectural and Building Technology diploma program to teach various courses starting in the Fall 2026 term. The ideal candidate will bring broad industry experience into the classroom, maintain course curriculum, demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, and cultivate positive relationships with students and colleagues.<br/><br/>Duties & Responsibilities<br/><br/>Deliver instruction through a variety of activities, including lectures, labs, and experiential learning<br/><br/>Develop and maintain a curriculum aligned with course learning outcomes, current industry standards, and new technologies<br/><br/>Assess student learning fairly and provide timely, constructive feedback<br/><br/>Organize field trips, construction site visits and guest speakers<br/><br/>Facilitate and maintain creative and positive learning environments<br/><br/>Support student success through academic guidance, mentorship, and professionalism<br/><br/>Participate in program and school initiatives, including curriculum renewal and accreditation<br/><br/>Work collectively and collaboratively with faculty members and the Program Head<br/><br/>Qualifications
Education & Credentials:<br/><br/>Registered Architect with the AIBC or eligible for registration<br/><br/>Experience:<br/><br/>Minimum ten years of recent North American industry experience<br/><br/>Demonstrated experience working on a range of project types and scales through multiple phases of design and project delivery<br/><br/>Demonstrated experience on commercial projects with concrete (cast‑in‑place & precast) and steel structures<br/><br/>Advanced knowledge of construction technology with excellent architectural graphic skills<br/><br/>Advanced working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD<br/><br/>Previous post‑secondary teaching experience is an asset<br/><br/>Excellent English language oral and written communication skills<br/><br/>Demonstrated ongoing professional development<br/><br/>Build and maintain effective and collaborative networks and relationships with students, colleagues and partners<br/><br/>Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills<br/><br/>Ability to work within and develop a collegial environment<br/><br/>Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills<br/><br/>Benefits – Why you’d love working with us<br/><br/>Competitive pay<br/><br/>Minimum of twenty‑five days of vacation (or more, depending on your position)<br/><br/>Competitive employer‑paid extended health and dental plan – take a look at our benefit plans<br/><br/>Defined benefit pension plan with employer contributions<br/><br/>Access to most BCIT Flexible Learning courses free of charge<br/><br/>Wellness and Employee Assistance programs<br/><br/>Complimentary membership with free access to the Fitness Centre, Gymnasium, and more<br/><br/>Eligibility requirements apply, benefits may vary depending on the employee group the position belongs to and whether the position offered is temporary or part‑time.
