About the Opportunity

A premier, independent Canadian wealth management and group retirement solutions firm is seeking a VP, Client Advisory Operations. In this high-impact senior leadership role, the incumbent will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), serving as the strategic bridge between investment management, operational execution, and exceptional member service. The unique dual-hatted position combines operational leadership and team mentorship with direct, client-facing advisory responsibilities as a registered Associate Advising Representative (AAR).

The Impact You Will Make

Client Advisory & Member Engagement

  • Serve as a registered AAR under OSC guidelines, reviewing and approving investor profiles and suitability documentation.
  • Lead high-impact investor presentations, discovery sessions, and educational workshops focused on retirement planning and wealth accumulation.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for plan sponsors and high-net-worth members to support retention and asset consolidation.

Operational Leadership & Transformation

  • Oversee daily operational infrastructure including member administration, account processing, reconciliations, and cash management.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance organizational scalability and data integrity.
  • Play a key leadership role in strategic recordkeeping platform transitions, process mapping, and onboarding workflows.

Investment Research & Portfolio Oversight

  • Partner closely with the CIO on investment research, manager due diligence, and fund performance monitoring.
  • Translate complex market updates and portfolio positioning into clear, actionable insights for clients and plan sponsors.
  • Support internal investment committee reporting and capital market analysis.

What You Must Have

  • Current registration (or immediate eligibility for registration) as an Associate Advising Representative (AAR) with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC).
  • 5 to 10+ years within wealth management, discretionary portfolio management, or pension administration.
  • Direct experience supporting operational scalability, process mapping, or platform/recordkeeping transitions.
  • CFA and/or CIM designations are viewed favorably.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with robust risk management discipline and the ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.
