Our client, a leading construction and development organization based in Winnipeg, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to support procurement operations across active multi-family and construction projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and commercially minded professional who understands construction materials, subcontractor coordination, and project-driven purchasing, and who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities across multiple active construction projects, ensuring materials and services are secured in line with project timelines and budgets
  • Partner closely with Project Managers and site teams to understand upcoming needs and translate them into clear, actionable procurement plans
  • Manage supplier relationships from initial sourcing through to ongoing performance, including pricing discussions and commercial terms
  • Anticipate material requirements by reviewing schedules, drawings, and project updates to reduce risk of delays or shortages
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery flow to job sites, resolving issues as they arise
  • Keep a close eye on inventory levels, lead times, and cost fluctuations to support proactive decision-making
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure purchasing activities align with overall project execution and financial targets
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve purchasing processes, supplier performance, and cost efficiency

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, construction coordination, or a related field
  • Exposure to construction environments or building materials is highly beneficial, though not strictly required
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in a project-based or deadline-driven setting
  • Comfortable interpreting schedules, drawings, or technical project information as part of day-to-day work
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with ERP or procurement systems is helpful, but not essential

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000 CAD+, depending on experience
