Our client is a well-established and highly respected electrical contractor with a long-standing presence in Western Canada. They specialize in delivering electrical, communications, and infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join their growing Service Division in the Greater Vancouver area.
Your New Role
As a Project Manager / Estimator within the Service Division, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of service, maintenance, tenant improvement, small projects, and retrofit work from initial client inquiry through to project completion. You will manage estimating, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, client relationships, and project execution while ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing detailed estimates for service projects, tenant improvements, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and small-to-medium-sized electrical installations.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and site requirements to develop accurate pricing and project plans.
- Managing multiple service projects simultaneously while maintaining client satisfaction and profitability.
- Developing project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Coordinating electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients throughout project delivery.
- Managing project financial performance, including cost tracking, forecasting, progress billings, and change orders.
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with existing and new service clients.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks while proactively resolving issues as they arise.
- Ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and overseeing project closeout activities.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting the use of construction technology and best practices.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience within the electrical construction industry.
- Experience managing service work, maintenance projects, tenant improvements, retrofit projects, or special projects is highly preferred.
- Strong estimating experience with the ability to prepare accurate and competitive project pricing.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and service calls in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Experience using software such as Procore, Accubid, SiteDocs, or similar project management and estimating tools.
- Strong understanding of contracts, project administration, and construction documentation.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Authorized to work in Canada.
