Job Overview<br/><br/>The Scarborough Health Network Foundation is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to lead the Direct Response program. The Associate Director will manage a multi‑channel strategy that emphasizes digital growth and delivers a seamless donor experience.
Responsibilities<br/><br/>Provide strategic leadership for the annual and direct response fundraising program, working closely with the Vice President, Philanthropy and external agency partners.
Own the strategy, performance and evolution of a fully integrated, multi‑channel direct response program (direct mail, monthly giving, digital giving, telemarketing, SMS, face‑to‑face).
Lead the development and execution of annual operating plans and budgets, including forecasting, KPI tracking and risk mitigation.
Drive the growth and optimization of digital giving programs, including online donation platforms, email fundraising and data‑driven donor journeys.
Serve as the internal thought leader on direct response and digital fundraising trends, piloting new tools and technologies.
Provide creative and strategic leadership to storytelling, messaging and campaign development across digital and offline channels.
Collaborate with Operations and Technology to analyze data, define segmentation and targeting strategies and translate insights into revenue growth plans.
Oversee data strategy and execution, including segmentation, extraction from Raiser’s Edge and delivery to vendors and internal teams.
Lead cross‑functional collaboration with Stewardship, Donor Engagement, Marketing and Operations to design end‑to‑end donor journeys.
Partner with the Director, Stewardship and Donor Engagement to maintain a strong stewardship framework for annual and digital donors.
Provide operational leadership for all appeals, including timelines, creative development, vendor and agency management and post‑campaign analysis.
Ensure governance and accountability through accurate donor records, performance reporting and regular communication of insights to senior leaders.
Qualifications and Competencies<br/><br/>5‑7+ years of progressive experience leading a multi‑channel annual or direct response fundraising program.
Proven success growing digital fundraising revenue, with experience on platforms such as Fundraise Up or Raisin.
Advanced expertise in Raiser’s Edge, including segmentation, data extraction and application of insights.
Experience managing agency and vendor relationships with clear performance oversight.
Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate data and insights into clear fundraising strategies.
Demonstrated leadership and influence skills, guiding cross‑functional stakeholders toward shared outcomes.
Deep understanding of the donor lifecycle and track record of moving donors from acquisition to long‑term value.
Commitment to stewardship excellence and experience designing donor engagement experiences.
Digital and analytical fluency, comfortable with metrics, dashboards, testing and performance management tied to financial targets.
Highly organized, self‑directed leader capable of managing competing priorities and high‑impact initiatives.
