Job Summary<br/><br/>Support Standard Chartered Group’s two licensed digital banks – Mox Bank Limited (Hong Kong) and Trust Bank Singapore Limited (Singapore) – as a member of the Group Commercial Legal Centre of Excellence (COE) located in Bangalore or Kuala Lumpur. Work closely with the digital banks’ legal teams to provide legal support for commercial and technology contracts and general legal advice for their wider business needs.
Key Responsibilities<br/><br/>Provide legal support for third‑party contracts and other product and business‑related work for the Digital Banks, coordinating with or supervising the Digital Banks legal team as needed.
Review, draft, lead negotiations and provide transactional support on vendor and third‑party commercial contracts, NDAs, MOUs, subscription licenses, software, SaaS, IaaS, platform market‑data agreements, hardware/equipment deals and other general goods and services arrangements, ensuring they meet third‑party contract standards, applicable law and business needs.
Offer legal support for bank products, including drafting customer terms and conditions, user journeys and campaign materials, and advise Compliance teams on regulatory issues and analysis.
Identify and recommend mitigation of material legal risks to stakeholders such as contract owners and risk owners.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a cooperative environment.
Collaborate closely with the Digital Bank Legal and Commercial Legal COE teams and with non‑legal business units such as Procurement, Finance, Risk, CISO and other internal client areas.
Keep abreast of relevant policies, procedures, laws and regulations for Hong Kong and Singapore.
Support continuous improvement initiatives on contract processes, workflows, guidance and templates, and lead training activities from time to time.
Collaborate with legal teams across the wider Standard Chartered Group.
Provide administrative and management support to the team when required.
Adhere to third‑party contract policies, supplier contract processes and third‑party risk management frameworks.

Skills and Experience<br/><br/>Strong understanding of commercial contracting requirements, including intellectual property and data protection, and familiarity with fintech.
Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating technology contracts (in‑house or private practice), including the use of guidance, playbooks and templates.
Experience in retail banking and/or financial services, and technology procurement domains such as Cloud/SaaS, e‑commerce, IP, data privacy and information security.
Experience leading and executing a wide variety of technology and innovation transactions with emphasis on stakeholder management.
Knowledge of current fintech innovation trends such as digital platforms, AI, virtual banking, APIs and blockchain.
Ability to negotiate contract terms with third parties.
Qualifications<br/><br/>Qualified lawyer in a common‑law jurisdiction (solicitor, attorney or barrister) with eight or more post‑qualification years of experience.
