The role includes technical guidance, prototyping, experimentation with emerging technologies, and the creation of reusable digital resources in support of innovation, experiential learning, and digital capabilitybuilding. This role is structured to provide targeted, high-impact support across multiple projects, while ensuring that project teams and participants remain responsible for developing their own ideas.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the design, development, and prototyping of immersive, interactive, and multimedia
project ideas
• Help assess the technical feasibility of proposed projects and suggest appropriate tools, platforms,
and approaches
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting to students, faculty, and staff using
CRX-supported technologies
• Build selected prototypes, proof-of-concepts, demos, or reusable technical resources that help
projects move forward
• Support projects involving technologies such as XR/VR, 360 content, 3D media, interactive tools,
digital storytelling, AI-enabled tools, and related creative technologies
• Help project teams understand technical possibilities, constraints, and implementation options
• Create shared examples, templates, and resources that can support multiple projects or future
program delivery
• Contribute to experimentation with emerging tools, formats, and hardware in a project-based
environment
• Support internal strategic or demonstration projects, as needed and as capacity allows
• Collaborate with INNOVA, the Library, and other partners to support project delivery and
experimentation
• Other related duties as required
Essential Qualifications
• Relevant education or demonstrated experience in interactive media, immersive technologies,
creative technology, digital production, or a related field
• Experience using one or more tools related to interactive or immersive production (e.g., Unity,
Unreal Engine, WebXR, or similar)
• Experience creating digital content or supporting its creation in areas such as multimedia, 360
content, interactive media, 3D assets, or XR/VR materials
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
• Ability to assess project ideas and help determine tools, workflows, and level of effort required
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and support users with varying levels of experience
• Experience troubleshooting digital or creative technology workflows
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary environments
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities

tools
• Interest in interactive, conversational, or AI-assisted digital experiences
• Experience with audio/video production, editing, or media development
• Experience working with emerging tools, immersive displays, or interactive installations
• Experience in experimental, innovation-focused, or prototyping project contexts
• Experience in a postsecondary, library, lab, or innovation environment
• Awareness of accessibility, inclusive design, and user experience principles
• Interest in both hands-on creation and supporting others in developing their projects
What This Role Involves
This role is ideal for someone comfortable moving between:
• making — building prototypes, demonstrations, technical components, or digital resources
• mentoring — helping others choose the right tools, understand what is possible, and move their
projects forward
• problem-solving — evaluating feasibility and implementation pathways
• experimenting —learning and applying new tools, workflows, and technologies in a project-based environment
This role supports project development through guidance, prototyping, and selected technical
