Role Description The Transportation Safety & Compliance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Norfolk County, ON. This position oversees all safety and regulatory compliance activities across the company’s transportation operations, ensuring adherence to local, provincial, and federal regulations. Day-to-day tasks include developing and updating safety policies, conducting regular audits and inspections, monitoring driver performance, and maintaining accurate compliance documentation. The manager will lead safety meetings and training sessions, investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. This role collaborates with operations, dispatch, and maintenance teams to promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in risk management and incident prevention.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Regulatory Compliance and Safety Compliance related to transportation operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in Training, including developing and delivering safety and compliance programs for diverse employee groups.
  • Proficiency in Accident Investigation, including incident analysis, reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
  • Knowledge of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles and practices applicable to fleet and workplace safety.
  • Relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management, preferably in a safety-focused role.
  • Familiarity with applicable transportation regulations and standards (e.g., hours of service, vehicle inspections, driver qualification requirements).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and coach team members at all levels.
  • Proficiency with basic office software and safety/compliance management tools; ability to analyze data and prepare clear reports.
  • Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety, transportation, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional safety certification (e.g., CRSP or equivalent) is an asset.
