About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced SAP PLM Consultant to support a strategic client engagement. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), SAP S/4HANA or ECC, and manufacturing business processes.

The consultant will work closely with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to design, configure, and enhance scalable PLM solutions that improve product development, engineering change management, product data management, and end-to-end product lifecycle processes.

Key Responsibilities

SAP PLM Solution Design & Configuration

  • Configure and implement SAP PLM solutions within SAP S/4HANA or ECC environments.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable SAP PLM solutions.
  • Conduct functional analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Support process standardization, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop functional specifications and solution documentation as required.

Product Data & Engineering Management

  • Manage and support:
  • Material Masters
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Product Structures
  • Specifications
  • Recipes
  • Engineering Data
  • Configure and support Engineering Change Management (ECM) and Engineering Change Records.
  • Support engineering data processes across product development and manufacturing.
  • Configure and support SAP Document Management System (DMS).
  • Support SAP Engineering Control Center (ECTR) integrations and engineering document processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering, R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and other business stakeholders.
  • Conduct workshops to understand business requirements and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business requirements into functional SAP PLM solutions.
  • Act as the liaison between business users, functional teams, developers, architects, and technical teams.
  • Provide guidance on SAP PLM best practices and standard functionality.

Integration & Technical Support

  • Integrate SAP PLM with SAP MM, PP, SD, QM, and other enterprise applications.
  • Analyze end-to-end data flows and integration dependencies.
  • Support integrations using APIs, IDocs, middleware, and related SAP integration technologies.
  • Work with technical teams to define integration requirements and functional specifications.
  • Participate in SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities.
  • Support production issues and provide functional troubleshooting.

Data Migration & System Enhancements

  • Support master data migration, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and governance activities.
  • Assist with data conversion and migration related to materials, BOMs, documents, specifications, and product structures.
  • Participate in SAP upgrades, enhancements, rollouts, and transformation initiatives.
  • Support impact assessments and regression testing for system changes.
  • Create functional documentation, configuration documents, process guides, and training materials.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • 5–10 years of SAP PLM consulting experience, with strong hands-on configuration and implementation experience.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP ECC PLM.
  • Proven experience delivering full lifecycle implementations, support engagements, enhancements, or transformation projects.
  • Experience working within manufacturing environments is required.
  • Experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, or Process Manufacturing is highly preferred.

  • Previous Bombardier experience is highly preferred.

  • Experience with SAP Digital Manufacturing, SAP BTP, or related SAP innovation solutions.
  • Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or cross-functional delivery environments.
