Description

Role: MuleSoft Integration Architect – SFDC Integration Patient Services Hub Transformation (Life Sciences Cloud)

Location: Canada Remote

We are seeking a hands-on MuleSoft Integration Architect to lead the integration architecture for a large-scale Patient Services Hub transformation built on Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud. This program modernizes how our organization supports patients, caregivers, and providers – spanning enrollment, benefits verification, prior authorization, adherence, case management, and copay/patient assistance programs. You will own the end-to-end integration strategy connecting Life Sciences Cloud with pharmacy systems, specialty distributors, hub service providers, CRM, ERP, data warehouses, and third-party healthcare data sources – ensuring secure, compliant, and scalable data flow across the patient services ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the integration architecture and roadmap for the Patient Services Hub program, aligning MuleSoft Anypoint Platform with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud.

• Design and govern API-led connectivity (System, Process, Experience APIs) across patient enrollment, benefits investigation, prior auth, hub case management, and specialty pharmacy workflows.

• Lead integration design with external partners: specialty pharmacies, hub service providers (HSPs), payers/PBMs, distributors, copay/PAP vendors, and provider systems (HL7/FHIR where applicable).

• Establish integration patterns for HIPAA-compliant data exchange, including PHI/PII handling, encryption, tokenization, and consent management.

• Architect event-driven and batch integrations (Anypoint MQ, Batch, DataWeave) for near-real-time patient status updates, adherence data, and case escalations.

• Define API security, governance, and lifecycle management standards using Anypoint Platform.

• Partner with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud architects/functional leads to align data models with integration touchpoints.

• Lead technical design reviews, guide a team of MuleSoft developers, and enforce reusable API/connector standards and best practices.

• Own non-functional requirements: performance, scalability, high availability/DR, monitoring, and error/retry handling for mission-critical patient workflows.

• Drive environment strategy, CI/CD, and DevOps practices for integration deployment.

• Support data migration and cutover planning from legacy hub/CRM systems to Life Sciences Cloud.

• Act as the primary technical liaison with business stakeholders, QA, compliance/privacy teams, and third-party hub technology vendors.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years in integration architecture/engineering

• 5+ years hands-on with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Design Center, API Manager, Runtime Manager, DataWeave, Anypoint MQ).

• MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (or Platform Architect) required.

• Proven experience architecting integrations for Salesforce Health Cloud / Life Sciences Cloud, or similar patient/member services platforms.

• Strong background in pharma patient support/hub services – enrollment, benefits verification, prior authorization, adherence programs, or patient assistance programs.

• Deep understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, X12/EDI) and HIPAA/PHI compliance requirements.

• Experience integrating with specialty pharmacy, PBM, distributor, or payer systems.

• Strong API design skills (REST/SOAP, OpenAPI/RAML), event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and enterprise data warehouses.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to translate business/clinical workflows into technical architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce certifications (Health Cloud Accredited Professional, Life Sciences Cloud, Integration Architect).

• Experience with life sciences commercial/patient services vendors (e.g., TrialCard, ConnectiveRx, Lash Group, or similar hub providers).

• Familiarity with MDM, consent management platforms, and pharma compliance frameworks (21 CFR Part 11, GxP).

• Experience leading integration workstreams within a broader systems integrator (SI)-led transformation program.

What Success Looks Like

• A scalable, secure, reusable API layer connecting Life Sciences Cloud to the full patient services ecosystem.

• Reduced integration cycle time for onboarding new hub partners/programs.

• Zero critical PHI/compliance incidents across integration pathways.

• A well-governed API catalog enabling reuse across future patient services initiatives.
