Job Title: Project Controller – AMR/EMEA

Duration: 12 months

Location: Montreal, QC

Pay Range: C$(53.12 – 70.62)/hr on T4

Hybrid: 1 day per week in office

Bilingual role – English & French

Note:

  • Role reports into France and USA — need strong language skills in both English and French
  • Typical work hours will begin at 7:00 AM to cover the EMEA region.
  • Flexibility required to accommodate coverage of the AMR region as well.
  • Looking for someone self-directed who can manage their schedule accordingly.
  • In-office requirement reduced due to schedule.
  • Only required to attend the Montreal office 1 day per week.

  • We are looking for a Project Controller to perform project control services for Client’s closure projects in the Americas Region (AMR) and Europe (EMEA).

  • You will work seamlessly with the Closure AMR/EMEA team members and report into the AMR/EMEA Project Controls Leads.
  • You will also liaise with closure staff working for supporting functions such as Finance and Procurement.
  • Workload and scope will be determined by the AMR/EMEA Project Controls Lead.
  • You will coordinate with District Managers, Asset Managers, and Study Leads to verify and report on cost and schedule performance for each assigned asset/project.
  • You will work with the AMR and EMEA Project Controls Lead to compile all reporting necessary for stakeholder and project meetings, reviews, and routine project control meetings.

Responsibilities will be:

  • Report to the AMR and EMEA Project Controls Lead.
  • Implementation of the global project services mission, vision, and goals.
  • Perform project control responsibilities monthly as directed by the AMR and EMEA Project Controls Lead. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Usage of assigned Project Controls Tool
  • Budget Tracking and Monthly Reporting
  • Forecasting
  • Annual Plan Review (APR)
  • Accruals
  • Vendor Management and invoicing support/verification
  • Planning coordination with Asset Managers and supporting functions such as Procurement, HSE, CSP, & Finance
  • Service Entry Sheet (SES) and invoicing support and tracking
  • Purchase Requisition (PR) creation and Purchase Order (PO) tracking
  • Collaborate with Asset Managers to establish routine progress review meetings.
  • Under the direction of the AMR and EMEA Project Controls Lead, oversee contracted project controls assigned to specific projects.
  • As directed by the AMR and EMEA Project Controls Lead, ensure that all required tools, processes, and procedures are being used/implemented on all assigned projects.
  • As directed by the Project Services Manager, support with the following:
  • Global process improvements and implementation
  • Recruitment of new Project Controllers and Schedulers
  • Lead regional trainings and presentations

Qualifications Needed:

  • To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
  • Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, or a related field is desirable
  • 5 or more years of experience in Project Controls
  • Experience with managing project control deliverables for a portfolio of projects
  • Understanding of project management and controls concepts
  • Knowledge or experience in progress management
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), forecasting, and accruals
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge or experience in change management
  • Proficient in SAP, Excel, and Power BI
