Youll sit with young people through hard moments, walk withfamilies through complex systems, and be part of a team that genuinely changeslives. Your wellbeing matters here as much as your clients does.</p><p>Land-based healing is central to our Child and Youth Program. If youcarry a love for the land, a connection to seasonal teachings, or knowledgepassed down through your family or community, that belongs here. The land isnta backdrop to our programming. Its part of how healing happens.</p><p>Our work is guided by the IPHCC Model of Wholistic Health andWellbeing. We understand that physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healthare all connected, and that you cant separate them. Culture is not asupplement to care. Its the foundation of it.</p><h3>What You’ll Do</h3><h3>Work Directly with Clients</h3><ul><li>Provideindividual counselling and emotional support using a wellness wheel approach</li><li>Facilitatehealing circles, talking circles, and group sessions for youth and families</li><li>Buildcare plans together with your clients, starting from their strengths and whatmatters to them</li><li>Workthrough risk assessments and safety planning with clients who are struggling, alongside your supervising clinician</li><li>Leadand take part in land-based cultural activities as part of the program</li><li>Offerfollow-up care through videoconferences when getting in person isnt possible</li></ul><h3>Support Families and Work Across Systems</h3><ul><li>Providecase management to clients and their families, including attending videoconferencingpsychiatry and psychology consultations</li><li>Speakup for clients and help coordinate services with community agencies andpartners</li><li>Fulfillyour professional reporting obligations as required by law</li><li>Buildrelationships within local schools and support students with counselling andfollow-up</li></ul><h3>Keep Good Records and Stay Connected to theTeam</h3><ul><li>Documentyour work accurately and on time in Misiways Electronic Health Record</li><li>Showup for case conferences, team meetings, and program planning</li><li>Keepclient information confidential, following Misiways privacy standards andapplicable law</li></ul><h3>What You Bring</h3><h3>Required</h3><ul><li>Bachelorof Social Work (preferred), or a diploma in Social Service Work, Child andYouth Work, or a related field</li><li>Atleast 2 years of direct experience working with Indigenous children and youthin a social services or health setting</li><li>Experiencewith trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally safe approaches to care</li><li>Comfortableconducting wholistic assessments and developing safety plans with clients</li><li>Goodcommunication, listening, and writing skills</li><li>Ableto manage an active caseload as part of a team</li><li>ValidOntario Class G licence and access to a reliable vehicle</li></ul><h3>Assets</h3><ul><li>Knowledgeof Indigenous cultures, histories, and the generational impacts of colonialism and residential schools</li><li>Experiencewith land-based healing, ceremonial practices, or Traditional Knowledge</li><li>Abilityto speak Cree or Ojibway</li><li>Experiencewith virtual counselling</li><li>Registrationwith a relevant professional regulatory body such as the OCSWSSW, or eligibility to register</li></ul><p>Acombination of education and lived experience will be genuinely considered forthis role.</p><h3>What Working Here Means</h3><p>Working atMisiway means being somewhere that takes its values seriously.
