Our commitment to innovation, quality, and precision is at the core of everything we do!</p><p><br></p><p>In this role as an Applications Engineer, you will be a crucial member of our sales team. You will be responsible for the preparation of detailed proposals, primarily focusing on the design and development of automation systems. This includes analyzing customer requirements and developing comprehensive technical solutions that align with project specifications.</p><p><br></p><p>This role involves performing a wide range of technological functions in mechanical and electrical engineering, mostly in support of design and automation system development. Additionally, the Applications Engineer assists in maintaining and servicing specific customer accounts.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li><b>Design & Cost Estimation:</b> Attend RFQ meetings, prepare estimates and proposals, create drawings and layouts using SolidWorks, define project scope, liaise with suppliers for budgeting</li><li><b>Technical & Sales Communication:</b> Deliver sales presentations, conduct customer tours, attend buyoffs/runoffs, participate in design reviews, track KPI’s</li><li><b>Project Support & Oversight:</b> Monitor scope creep, ensure design meets customer requirements, make design recommendations, liaise between teams, support customers throughout the project, provide on-site technical assistance</li><li><b>Risk Management:</b> Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>What we’re looking for:</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li><b>Industry Experience</b>: </li><li>At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, specifically within custom tooling and the automotive industry, with a solid understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes (methods, materials, machines, tools)</li><li>At least 3 years experience in sales or estimating</li><li><b>Technical Skills</b>: </li><li>Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, drawings, GD&T, and CAD files.</li><li>Ability to manipulate CAD files using SolidWorks or SpinFire to assess part requirements</li><li>Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel</li><li><b>Manufacturing Knowledge</b>: Familiar with various manufacturing industries, their products, terminology, and processes</li><li><b>Specialized Knowledge</b>: Understanding of building gauges and fixtures within the manufacturing process</li><li><b>Reporting Skills</b>: Ability to prepare estimates, budgets, status reports, and other necessary documentation</li><li><b>Relationship Management</b>: Capable of maintaining productive relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and team members</li><li><b>Travel Requirements:</b> Ensure all travel documents (licence, passport etc.) are current and valid</li><li><b>Communication/Interpersonal Skills</b>: Strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and work well in a team environment</li><li><b>Critical Thinking & Problem Solving</b>: Skilled in identifying and resolving issues efficiently</li><li><b>Math Skills</b>: Proficient in mathematical calculations</li><li><b>Time Management</b>: Effective in allocating time to prioritize tasks</li><li><b>Flexibility</b>: Adaptable to meet the evolving needs of the company, clients, and industry</li><li><b>Attention to Detail</b>: Ensures accuracy and thoroughness in documentation</li><li><b>Follow Through</b>: Concern for all aspects of the job, with strong commitment to completing work and maintaining productivity</li><li><b>Attitude</b>: Energetic, enthusiastic, and fully committed to the job</li><li><b>Personal Attributes</b>: Self-motivated, team-oriented, and results-driven</li></ul><p></p>
