About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior AI/ML Specialist with a strong background in Mining Process Engineering to lead the development of intelligent solutions that enhance operational efficiency and decision-making. As the first AI/ML hire on the team, this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the data strategy and build foundational models that support business and engineering stakeholders on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply AI and Machine Learning techniques to mining process data to uncover insights, optimize operations, and support strategic decisions.
- Work closely with on-site stakeholders to understand business processes and translate operational challenges into data-driven solutions.
- Develop and deploy hands-on models and algorithms tailored to mining workflows, asset performance, and production optimization.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with operational goals.
- Serve as the technical lead for AI/ML initiatives, laying the groundwork for future team expansion and capability development.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in AI/ML, with a strong focus on industrial or engineering applications.
- Mining Process Engineering background is a must.
- Deep understanding of business processes within mining or oil & gas operations.
- Strong hands-on skills in data modeling, algorithm development, and working with real-world operational datasets.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, especially in on-site environments.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership as the first AI/ML expert on the team.
