The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Cardiology at Women’s College Hospital (WCH) are seeking to recruit a Clinician Teacher, Clinician Investigator or Clinician Quality and Innovation with training in general cardiology with an interest in heart failure plus advanced fellowship training in cardiac echocardiography. The successful candidate must either already hold or be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The successful applicant if a Clinician Investigator will also be eligible for an appointment as Investigator Scientist, Women’s College Research and Innovation Institute at WCH. Effective start date is July 1, 2026 or a mutually agreeable date.

The successful candidate will hold an M.D. and FRCPC qualifications (or equivalent specialist designation) with certification in Cardiology and Advanced Fellowship training and ACC/AHA/ASE Level III certification in Echocardiography. Applicants must have or be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario. If a Clinician Teacher, they will have completed formal training through completion of the MSc in Education, Master Teacher Program or equivalent. If a Clinician Investigator or Clinician Quality and Innovation, they will have advanced graduate training (MPH, MSc, PhD or equivalent) applicable to their current career focus. The candidate should have a career focused on providing outstanding ambulatory and inpatient clinical care for general cardiology patients. In addition, the ideal applicant will have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated capacity and aptitude for effective interdisciplinary clinical and scholarly team collaboration and interactions. Depending on the clinical academic position, the individual will be expected to spend a portion of their time committed to clinical service, and a designated portion of their time committed to academic activities commensurate with their academic job description. Clinical service will include attending in the WCH ambulatory general cardiology clinic, heart failure clinic and echocardiography lab, and potentially approximately 4-6 weeks annually attending on the cardiology inpatient service at a University of Toronto affiliated inpatient hospital.

Women’s College Hospital is the first independent, fully ambulatory hospital in Ontario and is a University of Toronto fully-affiliated teaching hospital. Salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Remuneration will be based on the candidate’s specific criteria, including experience, skills, education, and training.
