Description
Position: Cloud Solution Architect
Location: Canada – Remote
Skills required:
1. Azure cloud experience (IaaS, PaaS)
2. Experience with Resiliency and BC/DR design concepts and Azure best practices
3. Azure consulting experience
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of customers’ business-critical application workloads deployed on Azure, focusing on resiliency, fault tolerance, and BC/DR readiness.
- Identify architectural gaps, risks, and single points of failure in Azure environments and provide actionable recommendations.
- Evaluate and improve resiliency across Azure IaaS/PaaS components including VMs, AKS, App Services, Storage, Networking, Databases, and hybrid connectivity.
- Design and document improved architectures aligned with Azure Well-Architected Framework, Reliability Pillar, and Microsoft resiliency best practices.
- Deliver workshops, technical sessions, and educational events to help customers understand resiliency gaps and the value of proactive remediation.
- Collaborate closely with customer architecture teams, engineering teams, and Microsoft stakeholders to drive adoption of recommended changes.
- Prepare assessment reports, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and BCDR improvement plans.
- Provide strategic guidance on Azure-native high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, backup, and automation solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Application Development (cloud-native design, distributed systems),
- Azure Infrastructure solutioning/provisioning (compute, storage, networking).
- Experience with Azure architecture frameworks, landing zones, and cloud governance.
- Strong understanding of Azure services such as Availability Zones, Traffic Manager, Front Door, Azure Storage redundancy, SQL/MI HA/DR, ASR, Backup, AKS resiliency concepts, etc.
- Ability to create high-quality architecture documentation and client-facing deliverables.
