Bradford Jacobs is assisting an AI drone solutions company, helping business customers improve mission-critical business operations. Since 2017, the company has leveraged software development expertise and grown drone design and manufacturing capabilities.

Our client is looking for a Compliance and Certification Specialist to join their team and drive the certifications, approvals, and compliance strategies that enable them to deliver advanced drone solutions for both defense and commercial customers.

What You’ll Do

Working across Business Development, Product Development, and Corporate Development—and in close collaboration with external consultants—you’ll take ownership of regulatory approvals, compliance requirements, and grant submissions. Your work will ensure they can test, operate, and commercialize their drone technologies in global jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with business development and government relations teams to develop FAA certifications and BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) rulemaking submissions.
  • Lead efforts in Blue UAS certification and related cybersecurity compliance.
  • Navigate Canadian drone regulations, engaging with NRC grants and Transport Canada initiatives.
  • Manage grant applications (e.g., SBIR/STTR, NRC-IRAP, ISED, DoD).
  • Drive federal and NATO-aligned proposal submissions via SAM.gov and Buyandsell.gc.ca.
  • Collaborate with legal, engineering, and product development teams to ensure full compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving regulations, defense procurement trends, and executive orders across the U.S., Canada, and NATO regions.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, government procurement, aerospace compliance, or defense industry roles.
  • Familiarity with key regulatory bodies and programs such as FAA, DIU, NRC, NATO, Blue UAS, OTA, SBIR, IRAP, and ISED.
  • Strong technical writing and grant proposal skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aerospace, law, or a related discipline.
