Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Construction Project Manager / Estimator to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for both accurately estimating project costs during the bidding phase and managing construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. The ideal candidate brings a combination of technical knowledge, cost analysis, project coordination, and leadership.
Responsibilities include:
Estimating:
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Prepare and submit competitive bids and tenders.
- Source and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Conduct risk and cost analysis for construction projects.
- Maintain current knowledge of market conditions, construction materials, and industry standards.
Project Management:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee all phases of construction projects.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress and budget to ensure deadlines and financial goals are met.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to safety standards.
- Prepare project reports, change orders, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project meetings and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications include:
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of combined experience in construction project management and estimating, preferably in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficient with estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, Sage Estimating) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, costs, and building codes.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
