Description
Responsibilities:Prepares electrical/civil work take-offs and estimates on utility projects including costs of materials, labour and equipment required for projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specificationsAdvises on tendering procedures; examines and analyzes tenders, recommends tender awards and conducts negotiationsEstablishes and maintains tendering process, sets up cost monitoring, reporting systems and proceduresRead and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specificationsInitiate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects regarding tendersParticipates in site meetings, tender review, tender hand-off, and project closing, as requiredPrepare pre-qualification submissions to present clientsLiaises, consults and communicates with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors, and prepares economic evaluation on changes and adjustments to cost estimatesAssist in material and equipment purchasing for secured key projectsOther duties as assignedRequirements5+ years of estimating experience on utility construction projectsProject Management ProfessionalOverhead / Underground High Voltage and street lighting maintenance experienceKnowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and other computer softwareHave good relationships with various utilities companies would be an assetGood communication skills
