Construction Estimator – Bridge Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for bridge and structural projects.
Review engineering drawings, specs, geotechnical reports, and contracts.
Complete quantity take-offs (concrete, steel, rebar, formwork, etc.).
Source and analyze quotes from subs and suppliers.
Collaborate with PMs and engineers to identify risks and cost-saving opportunities.
Participate in design reviews and value engineering.
Support bid strategies, proposals, and tender submissions.
Maintain cost databases and stay current on market trends.
Assist with change orders and cost validations during construction.
Qualifications:
~ Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
~5+ years of experience estimating civil/bridge projects.
~ Strong knowledge of bridge construction methods.
~ Proficient in estimating tools (HCSS, WinEst, Excel).
~ Skilled in reading technical drawings and specifications.
~ Detail-oriented with strong math and problem-solving skills.
~ Experience with MTO bridge projects and P3/Design-Build methods is a plus.
~ Certifications like CPE or PMP are assets.
~ Familiar with scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project) and BIM/CAD.
