About the Company? 

Our client is an asset management firm. They are looking for a Director of Finance who will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations for CI’s Canadian Wealth segment, leading a team of 15 professionals across multiple entities, this is an exciting leadership role where you’ll drive financial operations, enhance reporting processes, and collaborate across business segments. This role offers opportunities to engage in strategic analysis of potential growth initiatives, contributing to the execution of our mandate to rapidly scale the Canadian Wealth business. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate expansion opportunities, develop insights, and support decision-making that drives our growth strategy.

About the Opportunity? 

  • Financial Operations & Reporting 

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes across all Canadian Wealth entities. 

  • Review journal entries, working papers, and financial analysis prepared by the team. 

  • Conduct P&L and balance sheet variance analysis, working closely with FP&A and key stakeholders. 

  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and efficiency. 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support financial reporting and strategic initiatives. 

  • Lead process improvements, reporting enhancements, and system upgrades to drive operational excellence. 

  • Leadership & Team Development 

  • Lead and mentor a team of three direct reports (Managers) and 15 overall. 

  • Foster a culture of inclusion, high performance, and continuous improvement. 

  • Provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and decision-making. 

 

About You? 

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities. 

  • CPA designation and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 

  • Experience in wealth management, asset management, or multi-entity organizations. 

  • Strong expertise in IFRS, US GAAP, multi-company consolidations, and ICFR. 

  • Proficiency in Workday General Ledger (preferred). 

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines. 

 

Salary Range? 

$160,000 – $180,000/year?
