Description
The Manager, Planning and Development Services role is a key leadership position within our organization. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction and management of the planning and development department, ensuring that our community’s vision and goals are met.
This role involves leading a team of professionals to develop and implement policies, plans, and procedures that promote sustainable development, protect the environment, and enhance the quality of life for residents. The Manager will also serve as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, and community groups.
Responsibilities include:
- • Developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational objectives, aligned with the County’s Strategic Plan.
• Leading the planning and development team to deliver high-quality services and projects that meet stakeholder expectations.
• Providing expert advice to senior management and Council on planning and development matters.
• Managing the preparation and implementation of budgets, including financial planning and reporting.
• Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery and communication.
Key Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- • A Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field, or equivalent experience and qualifications.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in municipal planning and development, including supervisory or managerial roles.
• Registration as a Professional Planner (RPP) and active membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP).
• Strong knowledge of planning and development legislation and regulations in Canada, Alberta, and at the municipal level.

Salary Range:
$140,782 – $184,204 per annum
