Role Overview
The Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE/CRM) Functional Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the design and delivery of innovative business solutions leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform. The architect collaborates with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to define solution strategies, translate business requirements into system functionality, and ensure the successful implementation of end-to-end Dynamics CE solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Solution Design & Architecture
• Lead the functional design of Dynamics 365 CE solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business objectives.
• Translate complex business requirements into detailed functional and technical designs.
• Define integration strategies with other Microsoft and third-party systems (e.g., ERP, Azure services, SharePoint, Power BI).
• Consulting & Stakeholder Management
• Engage with clients to understand business challenges, define roadmaps, and propose Dynamics CE-based solutions.
• Conduct workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and fit-gap analyses.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on Dynamics 365 CE, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages), and related Microsoft technologies.
• Implementation & Governance
• Oversee and guide implementation teams through configuration, customization, and data migration.
• Define governance standards, solution documentation, and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure compliance with Microsoft best practices and enterprise security policies.
• Technical Leadership
• Collaborate with technical architects and developers to ensure functional and technical alignment.
• Review solution architecture for performance optimization, maintainability, and scalability.
• Mentor consultants and functional analysts in Dynamics 365 CE capabilities and project methodologies.
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of experience in CRM/CE implementation projects, with at least 5+ years in Dynamics 365 CE (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing, etc.).
• Proven experience in solution architecture, business process mapping, and requirement analysis.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, and Azure integration patterns.
• Experience in Fit-Gap analysis, Functional Design Documents (FDDs), and Solution Blueprinting.
• Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 customization and configuration, including forms, entities, workflows, and business rules.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines for Dynamics projects.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
