EDI Programmers Wanted
The role of EDI Programmer Analyst is multifaceted, requiring the ability to develop, coordinate, implement, and manage all EDI-related developments. Working on the EDI/Development team, this position entails onboarding new customers and suppliers to our EDI system using various software translation/communication tools. Key responsibilities include coordinating EDI testing, implementations, and upgrades. Additionally, the EDI Programmer Analyst serves as the primary link between the business and any data-trading partners (both suppliers and customers). This hybrid role offers a mix of remote and onsite work.
Main Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with Sales and the Systems team to onboard EDI Customers and Suppliers.
– Serve as point of contact between development staff and internal and external users.
– Provide manager with daily updates on health and status of current production issues.
– Communicate production issues to alert the business of impact.
– Lead, coordinate, and administer key process improvements to EDI implementations.
– Coordinate with our TMS software suppliers to ensure timely setup or resolution of open EDI issues
– Recommend and execute modifications to EDI to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
– Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure system integrity.
– Develop and maintain EDI process documentation, training materials and systems documentation.
– Provide orientation and training to end-users for modified and new systems
– Perform other job duties as required.
Experience and Skills:
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
– At least 2 Years of EDI experience, preferably in the transportation industry.
– Experience with CLEO or similar EDI translation software preferred.
– Experience in documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
– Experience dealing with internal and external EDI customers.
– Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative, fast-paced high demand environment.
Required Skills:
– EDI standard formats for transportation (ANSI x12) including 204, 214, 210, 990, 997.
– Knowledge of Rail, Retail, or Warehouse EDI would be beneficial.
– T-SQL knowledge would be advantageous.
– Self-Starter who can work on their own and as part of a team.
– Good written language skills in English for process documentation.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
– Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
