<p><b>Electrical Engineer / Electrical Designer – Building Services (Hybrid)</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>Confidential Client | Toronto / GTA (Hybrid)</b></p><p><br></p><p><b>The Opportunity</b></p><p>Our client, a leading national multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking an Electrical Engineer / Electrical Designer to join their growing Building Services team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and delivery of diverse building projects across commercial, institutional, retail, and industrial sectors throughout Canada.</p><p><br></p><p>Working within a collaborative consulting environment, the Electrical Engineer / Designer will support projects from concept through construction, contributing to technically sound, code-compliant, and integrated electrical design solutions while benefiting from a flexible hybrid work model.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Design and develop electrical systems for commercial, institutional, retail, and industrial building projects</li><li>Prepare electrical drawings, layouts, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit</li><li>Support full project delivery from concept design through construction documentation and closeout</li><li>Perform electrical calculations including lighting, power distribution (HV & LV), and load analysis</li><li>Design lighting systems, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, emergency power, security, and IT infrastructure</li><li>Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, structural, architectural, and other specialty disciplines</li><li>Participate in utility coordination, negotiations, and service requirements</li><li>Conduct site reviews and support construction administration activities</li><li>Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, applicable building codes, and project requirements</li><li>Prepare technical documentation and reports as required</li><li>Collaborate closely with project teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality design solutions</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>3–5+ years of experience in electrical engineering or electrical design within a consulting environment</li><li>Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Building Sciences / Electrical Engineering Technology diploma (equivalent international education accepted)</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit</li><li>Working knowledge of electrical design software such as AGI32, ETAP, or SKM (asset)</li><li>Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant building codes</li><li>Solid technical writing, communication, and coordination skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Preferred / Asset Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Experience working on commercial, institutional, retail, or industrial projects</li><li>Exposure to construction administration and site reviews</li><li>Experience coordinating with utilities and external authorities</li><li>Interest in professional growth toward senior technical or project leadership roles</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Why This Role</b></p><ul><li>Join a respected national engineering consulting firm</li><li>Work on diverse, meaningful building projects across Canada</li><li>Collaborative, supportive, and technically strong team environment</li><li>Flexible hybrid work model supporting work-life balance</li><li>Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits</li><li>Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><b>Compensation Transparency</b></p><p>The expected compensation range for this role is $90,000 – $125,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.</p><p>Additional compensation elements may include:</p><p>Group benefits and wellness programs</p><p>Performance-based incentives, where applicable</p><p>All non-discretionary compensation will be discussed during the hiring process.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)</b></p><p>Artificial intelligence (AI) is not used to screen, assess, or make hiring decisions for this role.
