Description
POSITION MANDATE
This position involves delivering electrical safety training and supporting hazard assessments on an occasional
basis. The role focuses on providing technical guidance and practical demonstrations for trainees on electrical
safety topics, including Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout, and Qualified Electrical Worker procedures. The position
also supports the assessment of electrical hazards in the workplace. Knowledge of environmental, health,
and safety (EHS) principles is considered an asset.

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
Electrical Safety Training
• Conduct training sessions for trainees on electrical safety topics, including Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout, and
other workplace electrical hazards
• Support the development, update, and preparation of training materials such as manuals, handouts, and
presentations
• Evaluate trainee understanding and provide feedback to ensure competency and safe practices
• Support demonstrations and practical training sessions
• Maintain records of training sessions and participant completions
• Ensure training content and delivery align with applicable electrical safety standards, such as CSA Z462,
CSA Z460, and relevant provincial Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements, to maintain
credibility and consistency
Hazard Assessment Support (Safety Audits)
• Assist in identifying and evaluating electrical hazards under the direction of site leadership or a designated
safety authority
• Provide guidance and recommendations on safe work practices
• Collaborate personnel to ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards
Perform additional training, coordination, and safety-related tasks as reasonably assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES
• Strong electrical knowledge and practical experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker
• Familiarity with Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout, and electrical safety standards
• Capacity to adapt technical content for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to deliver hands-on demonstrations and training effectively
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
• Analytical and problem-solving skills

• Customer service orientation and ability to interact with trainees
• EHS knowledge is a plus
• Comfortable working in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, etc.)
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS
• Must hold one of the following qualifications or equivalent:
• Electrician
• Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Electrical Specialist
• Electrical Technologist
• Powerline Worker
• Certification in hazard assessment is a plus
• Knowledge of EHS is a plus
• Availability on an occasional/on-demand basis
• Reliable transportation for travel to training sites
EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Qualified Electrical Worker, electrical technician, Powerline
Worker, or equivalent role
• Experience in hazard assessment and training delivery is preferred
• Previous experience in adult training or mentoring is considered an asset
