The main role of the Junior Lighting Application Specialist includes assisting the Sales Team with project designs, CAD drawing interpretation, Light Rendering calculations, and preparation and completion of riser details for customers.Responsibilities:Assist in the sales process by offering technical expertise on application-related questions,Communicate with Architects, GC, EC, EE, Lighting Designers, Distributors and GVA rep Agencies,Maintain a productive and collaborative relationship between sales applications and deployment to ensure a seamless transition for the customer,Prepare and interpret conventional and computer-assisted design (CAD) engineering systems, drawings, and specifications for lighting systems and components,Evaluate customer requirements with regards to GVA product offering to layout and design, the lighting plan and electrical requirements for preparation of BOM,Create project-specific lighting layouts, 3D light renderings and electrical plan designs and create a detailed BOM and submission to the customer,Create project programming files and updates to ensure full system integration with the control system is set up and functional.Stay well informed of the latest product offerings and features by building rapport with key engineering team members,Work with Engineering and manufacturing to develop, evaluate and improve products and processes for the benefit of GVA and its customers,Resolve customer complaints and establish corrective action plan,Provide technical expertise on the application of light fixtures, controls, power supplies and other electrical, optical and mechanical matters,Keep informed of performance limitations of all GVA products and ensure that all documentation output work within these limitations. Proactively prevent potential issues in the field by producing only deliverables that take into consideration these limitations.Prepare standards and schedules and supervise lighting system maintenance programs,Other Duties as assigned.Job Qualifications:Degree in Architecture or Electrical/Electronics Engineering.Demonstrated experience interfacing with clients and developing lighting solutions that meet clients’ needs.Familiarity with construction documentation and industry standards in architectural and lighting design.Understanding of building systems and how lighting integrates with architectural, electrical, and structural elements.Skills/abilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver clear presentations.Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Collaborative team player, capable of working in a cross-functional project environment.Skilled in managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD 2024, Revit, Bluebeam, and SketchUp.Familiarity with lighting calculation and modeling software such as Dialux EVO is an asset.Ability to interpret and work from architectural and electrical drawings, lighting layouts, and riser diagrams.Exposure to lighting control programming (e.G., DMX, ESA Pro 2, Designer 2) is considered a plus.Solid understanding of lighting technologies, including fixtures, lamps, and control systems is considered a plus.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project timelines.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and processes.Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks independently.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.During the selection process you might undergo psychometric tests, as well as practical exercises to help us identify those who have the right attitude, skills, know-how and to find a cultural fit with our company’s values.
