Position Overview
The Fundraising & Development Officer plays a vital role in advancing the Daughters for Life Foundation’s mission to empower young women from the Middle East through access to quality higher education.
Reporting to and working under the supervision of the Executive Director, this role focuses on three strategic pillars: fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and partnership development. The successful candidate will bring proven experience in fundraising and donor relations, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to educational equity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising Strategy & Donor Development
- Develop and execute targeted strategies to increase individual, foundation, and corporate giving.
- Identify and cultivate prospective donors and funding partners beyond DFL’s existing network.
- Prepare persuasive proposals and grant applications that reflect DFL’s strategic priorities.
- Contribute to impact narratives, stewardship materials, and fundraising reports.
- Lead the introduction, implementation, and effective use of Salesforce (or similar CRM tools) to enhance donor tracking and relationship management.
- Monitor sector trends and recommend best practices to strengthen fundraising outcomes.
2. Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Build and maintain strong relationships with individual and institutional donors through personalized outreach and communication.
- Manage donation processing, tracking, and acknowledgment, including thank-you letters and tax receipts.
- Create donor-facing content, including updates, reports, impact stories, and quarterly communications.
- Coordinate small-scale donor events, virtual appreciation efforts, and engagement touchpoints.
3. Partnership Development
- Support the cultivation of new academic and philanthropic partnerships aligned with DFL’s mission.
- Conduct research and outreach to expand DFL’s visibility and connections across the nonprofit, philanthropic, and higher education sectors.
- Assist with select scholar-facing and program-related communications, ensuring alignment between donor and program impact.
Qualifications & Attributes
- 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant writing, or development in a nonprofit or educational setting.
- Proven ability to write compelling donor proposals, grant applications, and stewardship communications.
- Solid understanding of fundraising strategy, donor cultivation, and stewardship best practices.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage tasks and timelines independently while aligning with strategic goals.
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and a willingness to support implementation and usage across the organization.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with donors, partners, and diverse stakeholders.
- A genuine commitment to gender equity, education access, and the advancement of young women in the Middle East region.
