Description
Position: GIS analyst
Location: New Brunswick, Canada (Remote)
Duration: 6 Months
Responsibilities
- Use world class software to prepare and deliver high quality spatial information products
- Use maps and data sets for spatial analysis to support business decision-making
- Develop and support a variety of Desktop, Mobile and Web GIS apps across the various JDI business units
- Compile spatial data sets for a variety of sources, including LiDAR, census data, Global Positioning System (GPS) data, field observations, satellite images, and environmental monitoring data
- Prepare reports of geographical statistics based on spatial data
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs
- Leverage the ESRI platform to deliver various location-based analysis for the Forestry, Transportation, Retail and other J.D. Irving, Limited Industries
Qualifications
- A University Degree or Community College Diploma with a focus on Geographic Information Systems
- Training or experience using the Esri platform including ArcGIS 10.x, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online

Bonus
- Esri certifications considered an asset
- Training or experience using Python and/or JavaScript and using Azure DevOps considered an asset
- Training or experience using Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst, Statistical Analysis, 3D Analyst and Image Server extensions will be considered an asset
- Training or experience using Esri’s mobile platform including Field Maps, Survey123, Collector, Explorer considered an asset
