You’ll transform our vision into compelling narratives that unlock serious capital.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Role Overview</b></p><p>You’ll be responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating grant proposals from a range of funders—technology innovation programs, media development boards, cultural agencies, international R&D initiatives, and more.</p><p>You’re part writer, part strategist, part systems builder—and all impact.</p><p><br></p><p><b>What You’ll Own</b></p><p><b>Grant Research & Pipeline Support</b></p><ul><li>Monitor federal, provincial, state, municipal, and international grant opportunities</li><li>Analyze eligibility, timelines, and requirements for AU’s various teams and subsidiaries</li><li>Help prioritize proposals that align with our roadmap and capacity</li></ul><p><b>Proposal Writing & Submission</b></p><ul><li>Draft, edit, and finalize compelling proposals tailored to specific grantors</li><li>Partner with department leads to gather program descriptions, milestones, budgets, and metrics</li><li>Track submission calendars, internal deadlines, and required attachments across multiple rounds</li></ul><p><b>Post-Submission & Reporting Support</b></p><ul><li>Support post-award documentation, budget realignment, and compliance submissions</li><li>Help teams prepare midterm reports, KPIs, and milestone updates for funders</li><li>Ensure that awarded grants are documented, tracked, and used strategically</li></ul><p><b>Cross-Team Collaboration</b></p><ul><li>Work with Grant Specialists, Legal, Finance, and Department Heads to assemble application packages</li><li>Translate technical, creative, and strategic content into accessible and funder-ready narratives</li><li>Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders during submission cycles</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>What You Bring to the Table</b></p><ul><li>You’ve written and secured grants for startups, cultural orgs, tech companies, or nonprofits</li><li>You balance emotional storytelling with data-backed credibility</li><li>You know how to translate vision into persuasive narrative</li></ul><p><b>Process-Driven Project Management</b></p><ul><li>You never miss a deadline</li><li>You keep clean calendars, organize drafts, and manage multiple submissions in flight</li><li>You know what documents are needed before anyone has to ask</li></ul><p><b>Contextual Intelligence</b></p><ul><li>You can tailor a proposal for a startup innovation grant, then switch to a media co-production brief</li><li>You’re fluent in navigating different funder languages—from arts councils to federal R&D to international co-venture programs</li></ul><p><b>Bonus Points For</b></p><ul><li>Winning grants in Canada (CMF, Telefilm, SR&ED), US (NEH, SBIR, NSF), or international (Creative Europe, Horizon)</li><li>Experience using grant management tools or cloud-based submission platforms</li><li>Familiarity with IP licensing, startup finance, or technology innovation language</li><li>Grant writing experience in creative, cultural, or tech-driven environments</li><li>A portfolio of past successful applications or proposal excerpts</li></ul><p><b>How We’ll Know You’re Crushing It</b></p><ul><li>We’re submitting multiple grant applications every month</li><li>Your proposals are high-quality, on-time, and aligned with AU’s roadmap</li><li>We’re securing funding that moves the needle—from $10K sprints to $1M+ programs</li><li>Teams rely on your process to navigate complex submissions with clarity and confidence</li><li>Funders see us as credible, visionary, and deserving of support—because you told the story right</li></ul>
