Our client’s are hiring contract workers for a range of upcoming projects, with compensation provided on an hourly basis.
The organization is a Canadian-owned partnership involving major energy stakeholders and professional unions, with many employees also holding ownership in the business. Established in 2001, it operates as the country’s only privately run nuclear power generator, supplying approximately 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity each year.
About the Role
Our clients are seeking experienced contract professionals to support a series of upcoming projects, with hourly compensation provided. In this role, you will contribute to a major Canadian energy partnership that plays a key part in supplying Ontario’s electricity.
You will be responsible for testing across Guidewire PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter, and must hold Guidewire Ace certification. Expertise in Earnix, AWS services, GW Cloud Console, GW Product Model, the Jutro platform, GT tool stack, Snowflake data migration, and API testing is mandatory. Experience with downstream data validation is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks for web and API layers using Selenium with Java and TestNG.
- Automate functional, regression, and smoke test cases for insurance applications including Policy, Billing, Claims, and Portals.
- Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps) to support continuous testing and deployment.
- Develop data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid test automation frameworks using best practices such as Page Object Model (POM).
- Perform API automation using Rest Assured, Postman, or Swagger.
- Execute Snowflake data migration validation and API testing activities across cloud-based insurance systems.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to implement shift-left testing in Agile sprints.
- Participate in performance, security, and accessibility testing as needed.
- Analyze test automation failures, perform root cause analysis, and enhance framework stability.
- Manage test repositories, source control (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket), and ensure traceability via Jira, Xray, and Confluence.
- Generate test execution reports and dashboards using Allure, Extent Reports, and Jenkins dashboards.
- Actively engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Demonstrate an ownership mindset, collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
Required Skills
- Minimum 7+ years of strong test automation experience across web and API layers.
- Proficient in Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, Rest Assured, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
- Strong understanding of JSON, XML, and data-driven automation techniques.
- Experience with version control tools (Git, GitHub, Bitbucket).
- Skilled in reporting and analytics using Allure, Extent Reports, and Jenkins dashboards.
- Familiarity with Docker, AWS, or Azure for cloud-based testing and execution environments.
- Experience in P&C Insurance, especially Auto and Home lines.
- Strong exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Guidewire Ace Certified – with hands-on testing experience in PolicyCenter and BillingCenter.
- Extensive knowledge in Earnix, AWS Services, Guidewire Cloud Console, Guidewire Product Model, Jutro platform, and GT tool stack.
- Experience in Snowflake Data Migration validation and API Testing.
- Experience in Downstream data validations.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing frameworks.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Exposure to test management and traceability tools (Jira, Xray, Confluence).
