The Opportunity:

ML6 has partnered with a Canadian icon in its search for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in New Westminster, BC. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a robust H&S program at one of Canada’s top manufacturers, known for its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Champion a proactive, collaborative health and safety culture across the site.
  • Lead continuous improvement in all Health & Safety programs, processes, and systems.
  • Develop and execute the site’s strategic safety plan, in alignment with corporate goals.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Mentor and oversee the performance of the Health and Safety Coordinator.
  • Administer and evolve the facilities health and safety management systems and reporting frameworks.
  • Manage regulatory and internal audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Identify corrective actions and ensure timely implementation and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit internal, corporate, and external reports on safety performance.
  • Oversee the H&S operating budget, including safety-related capital investments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on installations, process changes, and special projects.
  • Participate in change management and training initiatives related to safety.
  • Partner with Human Resources on employee onboarding, job accommodations, and workforce planning.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful:

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • CRSP designation (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a health and safety leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Deep understanding of BC occupational health and safety legislation and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record in creating, managing, and evolving comprehensive H&S programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills—able to engage employees at all levels and drive buy-in.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Compensation Range: $115,000-130,000
