Description
We are currently searching for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner for our manufacturing team in London, Ontario. Our ideal candidate is people-focused and passionate about employee engagement, organizational development and change management. With a focus on labour relations, you will be an integral member of the HR team and provide day to day HR support to department managers throughout the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Liaise with Management and employees as a trusted advisor to support all HR matters
Respond to employee relations matters though conducting investigations and required documentation
Manage the internal grievance resolution process, provide coaching and guidance to leadership regarding labour relations, collective agreement interpretation and policy & procedure inquires
Support the design of training material and train new and existing employees on HR related topics and policies
Collaborate with Health & Safety and support as required for return to work agreements and Ministry of Labour visits
Coach leaders on employee performance management issues and provide recommendations for action including progressive discipline
Facilitate Labour Management meetings to identify and resolve issues proactively
Enhance policies and programs to build positive culture and engagement, staying aware of legislative changes
Manage the non-occupational claims management process
Manage and communicate HR metrics to stakeholders while identifying trends and opportunities
Support and participate in recruitment activities as required
Lead and Support employer-branding initiatives and other HR initiatives as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
~ Post-Secondary education with focus on Human Resources
~5+ years of related experience preferred in an HR generalist capacity in a unionized manufacturing environment with proven ability to manage a complex workload
~ CHRP designation an asset but not required
~ Proven experience in grievance resolution and managing progressive discipline
~ Advanced knowledge of applicable legislation including OHSA, Human Rights, Labour Relations and ESA
~ Proven ability to lead and influence thinking and actions of others as well as demonstrated resourcefulness and creativity in bringing positive business solutions to the table
~ Ability to craft written communication to convey key points from meetings
~ Strong interpersonal skills and high attention to detail with a collaborative “can do” mindset
~ Self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well within all levels in a fast-paced organization
~ Excellent time management, written, verbal and listening skills
~ Strong team player who enjoys coaching and mentoring
~ Advanced computer skills: Excel, Word
