Dunphy Best Blocksom LLP is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to support recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, and culture-building for our team of 29 lawyers and 30 staff.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, build a strong candidate pool, and manage onboarding/offboarding
  • Support employees and leadership with employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance processes
  • Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Standards and maintain accurate HR records
  • Assist with payroll updates, benefits administration, and compensation reviews
  • Coordinate training, development, and mentorship initiatives
  • Support workforce planning, staffing analysis, and leave management
  • Maintain HR policies, the employee handbook, and contribute to policy updates
  • Prepare HR metrics, reporting, and assist with budget-related tracking

What You Bring

  • Experience in HR, or people-focused roles (legal or professional services background is an asset)
  • Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards
  • Excellent communication skills, discretion, and comfort handling confidential or sensitive matters
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A proactive, people-centered mindset with solid problem-solving abilities
  • CPHR designation or interest in pursuing it is considered an advantage
