Description
Logipak is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to own and execute all human resources operations for our organization. This is a sole HR role, responsible for the full employee lifecycle, payroll and compliance, and day-to-day HR operations, while working very closely with the General Manager and VP.
The role combines hands-on execution with advisory and support responsibilities, requiring adaptability and close collaboration with leadership to meet evolving organizational needs. The successful candidate will be expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, sound judgment, and professionalism within an established leadership framework.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payroll, Benefits & Compliance
- Process and oversee bi-weekly payroll for all entities, including validations, adjustments, and audits.
- Administer group insurance and employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Manage payroll using Ceridian (Dayforce and Powerpay).
- Manage year-end HR and payroll requirements, including T4 and RL-1 preparation, Revenu Québec filings, CNESST salary declarations, employer summaries, and related reports.
- Prepare and provide payroll journal entries and supporting documentation to accounting for reconciliation and financial reporting purposes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, files, and HR data.
- Ensure compliance with Quebec labour standards, CNESST requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and recommend updates to practices, policies, and documentation.
2. Health & Safety (H&S)
- Coordinate Health & Safety initiatives and support the Health & Safety Committee.
- Manage CNESST claims, accident declarations, follow-ups, and related documentation.
- Participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are documented and tracked.
- Maintain required H&S records, training documentation, and compliance files.
3. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Partner with managers to define job profiles, role requirements, and staffing needs.
- Draft, post, and manage job advertisements.
- Screen applications, coordinate interviews, and support the selection process.
- Prepare employment offers and employment contracts.
- Coordinate onboarding and integration of new employees, including:
- Company orientation and introduction to culture and values
- Coordination of initial training and access to tools
- Follow-ups during probation periods to support successful integration
4. Employee Relations & Performance Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee HR-related questions and concerns.
- Support managers with performance management processes, including documentation, follow-ups, and best practices.
- Assist with disciplinary processes, investigations, and terminations, in close collaboration with leadership.
- Act as a neutral and level-headed resource in employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and mediation support.
- Support internal HR communications related to policies, programs, and organizational changes.
5. Policies, Procedures & Training
- Develop, update, and maintain HR policies, procedures, forms, and the employee handbook.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with the 1% Training Law.
- Coordinate training and development activities in collaboration with operational managers.
- Support the administration of performance evaluation processes and related documentation.
6. HR Reporting & Organizational Support
- Track and maintain key HR indicators (e.g., headcount, turnover, absenteeism, training).
- Prepare HR data and reports to support leadership discussions and informed decision-making.
- Support the General Manager and VP on organizational improvement and prioritization initiatives by providing HR insights, analysis, and implementation support.
Qualifications & Profile
- 5–8+ years of progressive experience in a generalist HR role, ideally in a manufacturing, logistics, or operational environment.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with Ceridian (Dayforce and Powerpay).
- Strong working knowledge of Quebec labour laws, CNESST requirements, payroll administration, and year-end compliance.
- CHRA designation, an asset.
- Fully bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).
- Calm, level-headed, and tactful, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- High degree of discretion, integrity, and trustworthiness when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Collaborative working style and comfort partnering closely with senior leadership.
