Canadian Executive Search Group Inc. is seeking an experienced HR Manager for a local CK automotive client.

Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager leads all people-related functions within the plant, ensuring HR strategies, programs, and practices support business objectives while remaining compliant with corporate standards and applicable legislation. This position plays a critical role in strengthening employee engagement, developing talent, supporting leadership, and fostering an ethical, high-performance workplace culture aligned with the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Professional HR designation or equivalent practical experience
  • Canadian certifications (CHRP, CHRL, CHRE) considered an asset
  • U.S. certifications (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) considered an asset

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a unionized workforce, including labour relations and collective bargaining, where applicable
  • Strong understanding of employment standards, occupational health and safety legislation, and HR best practices

Skills & Abilities

Language

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages relevant to the workforce is an asset

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in HRIS platforms (Dayforce preferred)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Comfortable working with HR metrics, reporting, and workforce analytics

  • Labour relations and collective agreement administration (where applicable)

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Primarily office-based role within a manufacturing setting
  • Prolonged computer use requiring visual focus
  • Regular sitting, standing, and walking throughout the facility
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and document handling
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to approximately 25 lbs

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Partner with plant leadership to align HR strategies with operational, safety, quality, and productivity goals
  • Act as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, organizational development, and employee matters
  • Monitor and analyze HR performance indicators such as turnover, absenteeism, safety, and engagement
  • Leverage data insights to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with global HR teams to support and enhance corporate HR initiatives
  • Coordinate and support external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews

Compliance & Labour Relations

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable employment, labour, health & safety, environmental, and privacy legislation
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for regulatory agencies, legal counsel, and government bodies
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and compliant HR records in line with privacy laws and global standards
  • Lead and support collective bargaining processes, including preparation, negotiations, and implementation
  • Manage union relationships, grievances, and arbitration procedures where applicable
  • Uphold and enforce the company’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture
  • Lead investigations and resolution of employee concerns, complaints, and workplace conflicts
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and wellness initiatives
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to support employee satisfaction and performance
