Position: Materials Manager
Location: Collingwood, ON
Compensation: $110–120K base + 20% bonus | Benefits | Pension | Vacation
The Opportunity
Our client, a respected automotive manufacturer in picturesque Collingwood, Ontario, is looking for a skilled Materials Manager to lead inventory control, production planning, and materials coordination.
This is a pivotal role — you’ll ensure that the right materials are in the right place at the right time to keep production running smoothly and customer deliveries on schedule. You’ll also play a key part in improving efficiency, managing costs, and supporting long-term growth.
What You’ll Do
- Lead materials planning, inventory control, and production scheduling to achieve 100% on-time delivery
- Use capacity planning and S&OP tools to align operations with customer demand
- Manage packaging, freight, and storage costs within budget targets
- Maintain accurate part, cost, and material data in SAP and related systems (PASS, COGNOS, NIAPS, FPACS)
- Partner with customers to address supply issues and delivery commitments
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14000 and TS16949 standards
- Participate in RFQs and long-term production planning to support business growth
- Investigate and resolve nonconforming product issues
- Support your team through clear communication, coaching, and workforce planning
What You Bring
- A university degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related discipline
- 7–10 years of materials management experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a unionized facility is an asset
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (SAP preferred)
- A proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment
