Russell Tobin’s client is hiring a Merchant Retention Specialist in Toronto, ON

Employment Type: Contract

Location: Onsite – Toronto, ON CA

Pay rate: $24-$26/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy retention strategies to save at-risk merchants
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve escalations (commission rates, printer support, radius adjustments, promotional funding, and in-store operational needs)
  • Equip teams with performance tracking tools to monitor program effectiveness
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to increase merchant save rates and ROI
  • Analyze data to uncover trends, identify churn risks, and drive measurable results
  • Maintain organized documentation and clear communication across stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and inform strategic decisions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Suite
  • Proven ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
  • Customer-oriented approach with a proactive, solution-driven mindset
