As an OB/GYN at EKRH, your compassion and communication skills are crucial in allowing you to treat and support patients from a diverse population spanning many cultures. You will manage approximately 800-900 deliveries annually, continually growing through exposure to a spectrum of interesting cases. Our well-equipped operating rooms serve as the ideal setting for you to take on complex obstetric challenges, from twin pregnancies to intricate scenarios, enabling your professional growth.
Our neonatal unit allows you to provide holistic care for patients, while our collaborative multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, urologists, psychiatrists, internists, and surgeons, offers robust support. With four local midwives and family physicians, our OB/GYN department fosters a nurturing environment to deliver comprehensive women’s health services.
Immerse yourself in a setting that nurtures continuous learning and professional advancement. Expand your influence through rural health initiatives. We offer up to 35 annual surgical locum days where you can provide care in BC’s remote communities. For those dedicated to serving these rural areas long-term, there are incentives and flexibility to craft a meaningful career by either joining an established practice or pioneering your own.

Compensation
Compensation TypeClinical Service ContractEstimated RemunerationAs an OB/GYN working full time in Cranbrook, you’ll earn $370,492 on your APP contract, plus MOCAP level 1.Physician OverheadIntegrate into an existing practice with beneficial overhead models or carve out your own practice while optimizing overhead costs.

Vacation LeaveWith flexible scheduling, you’ll have ample time to recharge and unwind.May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:Retention Premium14%Retention Flat Fee$21,696Relocation Funding Available$9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada.Recruitment Incentive$20,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time.Other Benefits/IncentivesWith RCME, you’ll be eligible to receive $1,800 for up to 2 years in Cranbrook, $4,800 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $7,800 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer.
