Ocean Pricing Specialist (Import and Export)- Montreal Office

We are seeking an Ocean Pricing Specialist to join our Freight Forwarding division in Montreal!

This person will be responsible for the timely processing of quotes for both air and ocean, import and export, transactions to our customer base and sales personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor Receipt & Review all pricing requests;
• Manage pricing requests to ensure completion and/or request additional information;
• Prioritize quotes under guidelines set daily;
• Request spot pricing from various vendors to support competitive costs/pricing for same;
• Request additional information/pricing from agents for DAP/DDP/EXW shipments;
• Process final quotes back to client within either “same day” or next AM (DAP/DDP);
• Work with sales to analyze/adjust specific client “rate guidelines’” based on follow-up/feed-back received;
• Maintain rates in software systems;
• Work with Sales team on bid type pricing/assembly;
• Assist in research/collect pricing data in various target regions (air/ocean agent etc.) to continuously drive down costs;
• Maintain detailed notes within quotes as far as “spot” pricing/routings etc. to guide operations as to best service/price combination on secured quotes;
• Support operations in communicating quote details and cost structures both at the transactional level – and at the client level (pricing profiles);
• Other tasks as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous Transportation or operational experience is preferred, various roles within transportation would be beneficial;
• Previous experience in North American, international, ocean and/or air logistics an asset;
• Strong negotiation skills an results driven;
• Quick learner able to work with new software, systems;
• Demonstrated customer relationship skills and interpersonal skills;
• Able to prioritize and work deadlines in a high transactional environment;
• Has a good attention to details;
• Ability to champion business needs in a collaborative manner to colleagues;
• Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others to meet customer expectations.
