Description
Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an O&M Specialist to join their team on a 1-year contract in Edmonton, AB.
This person will support hydrocarbon processing and transportation facility staff with project design input, construction interface, shut-down planning, commissioning and start-up (CSU), and hand-over, while providing leadership, guidance, and expertise. Reporting to the Project Liaison Coordinator, this role will support all stages of projects, including design input, construction, CSU, and close-out.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Mentor and support Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Liaisons on assigned facility projects within the Liquids Infrastructure (LI) business.
- Work closely with leadership to continuously improve Operations & Maintenance (O&M) interfaces and deliverables.
- Foster strong communication with Project Management Teams, Construction Management Teams, and O&M stakeholder groups through every project stage.
- Assist in the development and updates of O&M deliverable schedules, working with O&M Liaisons, project managers and technical specialists.
- Optimize and enhance the O&M deliverable development process.
- Highlight opportunities to standardize designs and design input.
- Present engineering specification development improvements to the Technical Services group.
- Continuously focus on the most up-to-date thinking/practices/research in the development of a Continuous Improvement model.

- Collaboratively work with the leaders of the Liquid Infrastructure and the company to develop and implement “Best in Class” process and systems.

- Support adherence to all company policies, rules, and guidelines.
- Lead the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for Operations and Maintenance within assigned projects.
- Support development of OPEX estimates and CSU estimates as a project deliverable.
- Instill pride in work at the facility and maintain high housekeeping standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 15+ years of Operations, Maintenance, and Project execution experience, including 10+ years in a leadership role.
- Have a strong understanding of project systems and processes, engineering, and construction principles.
- Conversant in a variety of operating and maintenance philosophies and able to recommend operating and maintenance methodologies that best fit various facility designs.
- Conversant in key performance indicators and can lead the development of effective Turnover and CSU programs.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach multi-discipline teams in a professional setting.
- Encourages and incorporates diverse and creative initiatives and perspectives; has sound judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as a professional and courteous attitude with the ability to facilitate a team to defined outcomes in a timely manner.
