Description
Our client, a well established civil construction contractor based in Burnaby, is seeking an Operations Coordinator to support day-to-day project execution and ensure field and office operations run efficiently. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and internal teams to support planning, scheduling, documentation, and compliance across active civil projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily project operations, including field data entry and cost tracking in B2W Track.
- Assist with pre-construction and pre-field activities such as permits, BC One Calls, risk assessments, schedules, and coordination with inspectors.
- Review, track, and file FLHAs, safety documentation, and project records.
- Draft and issue purchase orders and support procurement and vendor coordination.
- Maintain organized project documentation and ensure vendor compliance (WorkSafeBC, insurance, and required clearances).
- Support Project Managers with reporting, documentation, and general coordination as required.
- Assist Superintendents with daily and weekly crew and equipment scheduling and dispatch.
- Communicate schedule changes, permit status updates, delays, and impacts to internal teams.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to align work with project schedules.
- Assist with Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and other operational documentation as required.
- Serve as a point of contact for project-related communication and documentation.
- Support health and safety compliance in accordance with WorkSafeBC and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as required to support project and operational needs.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Certificate or diploma in Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum 1+ year of administrative or coordination experience within the civil construction industry.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Working knowledge of project management and productivity software.
- Experience with B2W Track, Buildertrend, or similar systems is an asset.
- Familiarity with traffic management systems is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
