Description
We’re looking for a hands-on, results-driven Operations Manager to lead a 5-person, dedicated team across operations, logistics, and fulfillment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving problems in real time, and helping a team perform at its best. You’ll play a critical role in keeping production, materials, and shipments moving smoothly, while also coaching and developing the people who make it all happen. If you thrive in a fast-moving environment where every day brings something new, this role offers both challenge and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support the operations team to ensure strong daily execution, clear priorities, and a collaborative, accountable work culture.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to keep production schedules, material flow, and shipping timelines aligned.
- Supervise the shipper/receiver and collaborate with them to implement best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Personally manage complex international logistics, including export documentation, customs compliance, carrier coordination, and resolving escalated shipment issues.
- Serve as the operational point of contact for Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, and Finance for all production, logistics, and fulfillment matters.
- Oversee order assembly, picking, packing, and shipment to ensure speed and accuracy, both internally and at 3PL facilities.
- Maintain clear communication with Sales, Project Management, and other teams regarding order statuses.
- Work with the Purchasing manager to manage accurate inventory movements and optimize material flow to support production and shipping activities.
- Own the proper storage, labeling, and inventory count accuracy.
- Monitor key operational metrics (on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, fulfillment cycle times) and take action to improve performance.
- Develop and refine operational processes and SOPs to strengthen efficiency, ensure compliance, and enable scalable growth.
- Provide operational insights to senior leadership and contribute to strategy execution.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on operational performance, including KPIs, such as on‑time delivery, shipping accuracy, fulfillment cycle time, and inventory metrics – and use data to drive improvements.
- Recommend and execute process improvements to reduce cost, improve speed, and enhance quality.
- Step in hands-on when needed: support urgent orders or shipments, resolve on‑the-floor issues, remove logistical blockers in shipping, and ensure team resources are effectively mobilized.
- Champion a continuous improvement mindset and drive for results across the operations function.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years operations leadership or production management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of logistics experience with an emphasis on international movement of goods.
- Proven experience managing international logistics, including export documentation, customs compliance, and coordination with freight/carriers.
- Strong experience supervising or coaching a small operations team and building team capabilities.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing workflows, materials movement, logistics, and fulfillment processes.
- Experience with ERP/WMS system and operational reporting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills (data analysis, pivot tables, reporting), and strong comfort working with data for performance tracking.
- Tech‑savvy, adaptable, and comfortable learning and optimizing systems and tools to improve operational performance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Hands‑on mindset with a strong drive to deliver results, support team members, and drive continuous improvement.
