Description

The Plant Manager has overall responsibility for the entire manufacturing facility, and oversees the development and implementation of organizational strategies, standards, and practices to achieve best-in-class performance. Drive the success of operations in collaboration with plant leadership.

Plant Manager Responsibilities:

  • Leads safety and security for an injury free work environment
  • Ensures a culture which enables a safe and secure work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Executes business strategy and direct operations that drive towards manufacturing excellence
  • Leads with a clear view of where the organization needs to be in 1-3 years
  • Communicates strategic direction to employees and how it fits with the day-to-day actions and results being driven.
  • Sets clear and measurable performance expectations, in line with division and corporate goals
  • Oversees the development of a comprehensive annual capital budget and operations plan; initiates timely and appropriate capital requests to maintain or enhance plant performance necessary to meet customer demands
  • Operates with zero environmental non-conformities to applicable company, government, and regulatory policies
  • Ensures a positive, creative, diverse, and collaborative work environment where employees own the success of the business
  • Monitors labor activities to ensure compliance with company policies and/or governmental regulations
  • Creates an environment where talent is developed, and full potential is realized
  • Effectively builds a team with competent people using the appropriate mix of internal promotions and external recruitment to satisfy near-term performance and longer-term succession needs
  • Serves as a great leader across the business, driving engagement and supporting cross-functional projects and teams.

Plant Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Business, or Related; Master’s preferred.
  • 5+ years in a Plant operations leadership role
  • 10+ years of experience in progressive manufacturing roles within an heavy, industrial environment
  • Proven track record of growing and promoting talent
  • Strong background in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) training
  • Excellent communication with the ability to effectively work with individuals at all levels
  • Proven ability to think and act strategically to direct operations and drive manufacturing excellence
  • Ability to travel 10%
